Milk Boosting Banana Muffins

Hey there, mama! As a new mom myself (Max is almost 3 months old right now), I totally and completely understand the constant worry about milk supply. Especially as I transition back to working and am away from him more often, I am doing all I can to keep my milk flowing.

Although research is limited, there are a number of food ingredients that are thought to increase milk supply, also known as galactagogues. This muffin recipe includes a galactagogue blend from Majka and a good helping of oats, another food commonly recommended to nursing mamas for a breast milk boost.

I love having these on hand for easy snacks and quick breakfasts. They also freeze well, so go ahead and double the recipe!

Milk Boosting Banana Muffins


  • 2 ripe bananas

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 3/4 cup oats

  • 2 scoops Majka lactation booster, unsweetened (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and oil a muffin tin.

  2. Mash bananas with a fork and whisk with eggs and melted coconut oil.

  3. Stir together dry ingredients then combine with wet.

  4. Add batter to 10 muffin cups of tin.

  5. Bake for 25 minutes.
